But now, it is directly affecting all of our lives. Many of us have lost family, friends and colleagues. All of us have felt the cold touch of fear. It is no longer possible to think of AIDS as a disease that affects someone else. It threatens everyone, regardless of race, sex or sexual orientation. / Hence a coalition of men and women of many communities has come together tonight to give voice to our concern and to bear witness to our commitment in the fight against this cruel disease.
